our house...
Fias
Co Farm tour...
We live, raise dairy goats
and run our Internet based graphic design business on a forested and very
hilly, 15 acres North Eastern Tennessee.
This is a view of our little
house from the driveway.
If you walk down the driveway
and look across our front yard, you can see our barn in the distance.
This was once a tobacco barn that we converted into dairy goat barn. The
does (girl goats) live on one side of our house and the bucks (boy goats)
live on the other side.
Further on you can just see
the Clinch Mountains.
This is what we consider the
front door to our house (it's really the side door).
The plants on the left are
bamboo. Growing beneath is English ivy with the occasional yucca.
To the right of the door is
a Hollywood juniper and to the left is ivy that is slowly covering the
house and growing across the pergola. (These pictures are a few years
old now and the ivy has covered much more of the pergola)
This is what we see when we
sit on the deck and have martinis each evening. The front yard is Larry's
"gazing garden" designed very much in the Japanese garden style.
Often you can see the goats grazing on the "flats" in the distance...
it is quite scenic.
The road runs to the right
of our barn and you can
see the Clinch Mts. in the distance.
My medicinal herb & vegetable
garden in obscured by the three very large boxwood bushes on the right
(next to the smaller rounded boxwood that Larry likes to prune so it doesn't
get in the way of our view). You must walk through the garden to get to
the barn
This is a view of the house
from the garden as you come back from the barn.
The little red "barn"
with the white roof, you can just see in back of our house (to the left)
is the buck's house.
