Goldie is
my first milk goat. She is a wonderful, solid goat with a friendly
temperament which she passes to all her childern. She is great
in the milkstand and loved her "job" as a dairy goat.
Goldie is
herd matriarch and queen. She is also my favorite goat ever. She
is very people oriented, knows her name, and will come to you
if you ask her to. She has a great personaity and everyone who meets her can help but love her.

NEWS
FLASH:
March 20, 2004 - Retiring herd queen
ends her child producing career in a big way.
At age nine, Goldie gives birth to quadruplets: four
happy healthy babies: Lane, Shane, Zane & Primavera [later renamed Goldie Jr.].
Goldie
has produced a total of 22 children in her life. It had
been decided in the Fall that this kidding would be her
last, due to her age (9) and a tenancy to produce triplets.
It seems she decided to go out with a bang. This is the
first, and hopefully, only set of quadruplets born at
Fias Co Farm.
Larry
was heard to comment:
"Goldie, what were you thinking?"
Goldie was very interesting
in that she ALWAYS gave birth to brown/black (Oberhasli-like colored)
kids and cream colored kids- no matter what color the buck she was bred
to. She had a total of 22 kids in nine years, and they were all either
cream or brown/black. Her last kidding, where she gave birth to quadruplets,
was the only year she had only cream kids and did not also have a brow/black
kid.
